“We had an immediate need, NTT answered with an immediate solution which allowed us to meet our business objectives.”

— Chris Irving, Chief Information Officer, RouteOne

Challenge:

Working within the financial and insurance process for automobiles, RouteOne has a nearly 20-year history in the industry. However, the industry has seen many changes in recent years, including neutral-to-declining growth in the core market, new disruptive competitors, and the digitalization of the customer’s purchasing journey.

RouteOne needed to transform its infrastructure model to stay current but faced a very static platform design and significant daily manual effort. The aging framework was becoming a bottleneck, stopping forward progress.

Solution:

RouteOne began working with NTT to modernize the infrastructure, with the goal of moving from an old static model, to something more automated, virtual, flexible, easily scalable, and with more utility. RouteOne was also looking for greater transparency, with a need to collaborate with security practices and the ability to communicate these items clearly and in an easy-to-understand way to customers.

NTT worked closely alongside RouteOne and implemented a hybrid cloud service that met their requirements.

Result:

Overhauling the infrastructure led to a greater security posture and overall back-end system process improvements. This approach frees up some of the staff to work on other more value-added areas, such as increasing business customers’ agility. NTT continued its relationship with RouteOne after they implemented this solution. Close and transparent interactions were maintained, giving direct access to staff and automating tasks such as patching.

These interactions have led to increased team-oriented approaches, where both sides strive for continued mutual success.
